Den Norske Fiskeklubben i San Diego (The Norwegian Fish Club in San Diego) is a social organization for Norwegians and Americans of Norwegian ancestry to celebrate their heritage. The Club hosts a monthly traditional Norwegian-style fish dinner prepared under the supervision of a Norwegian chef and served with Norwegian Aquavit and imported Norwegian beer. Fresh fish is flown in from Norway or Alaska for each dinner. Our toastmaster conducts the toasts during dinner. The meetings are arranged by Navigator Jo Kirkenaer and hosted by Skipper Sig Stautland.
The dinners are a way for members to enjoy Norwegian fellowship and uplifting accordion music by charter member Kjell Holmes. The club invites local and international guest speakers on Norwegian-American cultural topics. Dress code is coat and tie. The Club meets on the second Friday of each month at 6 PM at the Bay View Restaurant and Lounge, Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego. December is our formal event featuring a Christmas Gala and Ladies Night.

A note about the web-site:
We really appreciate the feedback and suggestions that you have provided us with. The most recent one that we completed was from David Boe: That we get listed in the San Diego Union Tribune SignOnSanDiego web-site. Others have included changes in menus and content. Some of these are sill in the works, so to say: a monthly poll question and putting together a meaningful guest book. We have also enjoyed your feedback on the Fish Club Photos section. We have not received much feedback from out Links section, but as most of you know, there are links to many Norwegian organizations that you might find useful, such as the Valhall Lodge, and the House of Norway in Baboa Park. Finally, if you want to plan ahead for future Fish Club events, please check the Schedule section where you'll find information about the dates and Norwegian cultural topics presented at each dinner. This page is a great resource to use if you are inviting guests along with the directions to the Norwegian Fish Club dinners. As always, we hope that you'll find the web-site of use and continue to provide us with feedback.
