Den Norske Fiskeklubben i San Diego (The Norwegian Fish Club in San Diego) is a social organization for Norwegians and Americans of Norwegian ancestry to celebrate their heritage. Each month from September through May the Club hosts a monthly traditional Norwegian-style fish dinner served with Norwegian Aquavit and good beer. Our toastmaster conducts the toasts during dinner. The 2009 Officers are Skipper Jon Holmerud, Navigator Andreas Ueland and Purser Everett Shogren.
The dinners are a way for members to enjoy Norwegian fellowship and uplifting accordion music by charter member Kjell Holmes. The club invites local and international guest speakers on Norwegian-American cultural topics. Dress code is coat and tie. The Club meets on the second Friday of each month at 6 PM at the Bay View Restaurant and Lounge, Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego. December is our formal event featuring a Christmas Gala and Ladies Night.
